Hello to all our friends and family!
What started out as a year of anticipation has truly turned into a year of memories and treasures! We began our year living with Jamie’s parents who were so generous to let us stay with them until we were stable enough to move into our own place. While still adjusting to our recent move to Australia, the anticipation of a baby coming along added to the excitement as well as Jamie looking into continued studies.

January was a month of traveling and job hunting. Jamie found as job at a local Christian bookstore called Koorong and began his training as a part timer. In late January we were able to go to Sydney and visit an old friend of Amanda’s from high school (Kemi), and her fiancĂ©.

February/March… We embarked on our first official Aussie family camping trip to Point Plomer. Though it rained (especially while trying to set up our tent), we found sun breaks to go fishing and see wildlife (including a dingo & jelly fish!). What a treat! We also did much garage sailing for baby items, exploring the e. coast and goofing off at the beach!

April was a month for more family events! Brad (Jamie’s brother) and Talia were married late in the month and we had a blast road tripping up to Tamworth with some friends for the event. The road was had a million bends and turns while going around the mountain so we had to stop frequently for baby and mama Amanda’s sake. J We finally got there and enjoyed a beautiful wedding and reception with the family! These Aussie’s know how to have a good wedding party!

May was another month for travel. Jamie took Amanda up the coast for her birthday for a day to experience Coff’s Harbor. Later in the month, we had the treat of being visited by Nicholas (Amanda’s brother) and meeting his Aussie girlfriend Johannah! In the two day they were here, we must have seen a hundred tourist sites! Very exciting and it was so good for Amanda to see family after 7 months!

In June, Jamie started studies in Counseling Psychology. The course is quite a challenge but Jamie is doing well and learning so much! It seems to be a perfect fit for his love for helping people!

July proved to be a month of anticipation and looooooooooong waiting especially for Amanda and her prego tummy. As we both eagerly awaited the due date of our first baby boy, the 22nd came and went. Amanda’s mom and sister arrived for a 3.5 week visit on the 28th of July and we spend several sweet days catching up and talking nothing but baby! Though Jamie had midterms that week, we could think of nothing but baby. July came and went and no baby arrived yet. Amanda was induced on the evening of the 30th of July

August… Logan Tien (pronounced Tea-Yen) Towle arrived the 1st of August at 2:35am! He weighed 7 Lbs 9 Oz and was 20 Inches. It was such a thrill to finally hold him as he was a good 10 days over due! Over the next several weeks, we all started to get use to having this fragile, precious life with us and fell in love with him more each day. Everyone was so surprised at how alert, calm and happy he was! He even decided he would sleep through the night by 4 weeks!

In September/October we moved into a little rental about 10 minutes from where we were previously living! Dan Tuck, our surrogate brother, moved with us and we all started to get settled into our new home.

November came with much stress for Jamie as the holiday season started to pick up and so did hours at work and his school work load. We ended November with Thanksgiving(!!!) with Jamie’s parents and Dan. Oh, and Logan rolled over for the first time!!! He is growing up so fast…

And finally… December. This year will be Logan’s first Christmas and this celebration has so much new meaning to us this year. What a precious gift a baby is and how amazing is it that our Savior decided to come as something so fragile and precious?! We thank him every day for his love and salvation!

Through all the excitement and new experiences, me have leaned on one verse this year we would like to share. “Is. 26:3- He will keep you in perfect peace whose mind is steadfast because he trusts in You.” Trust Christ for everything! We pray you have a blessed Christmas and a happy new year!
